You may not love them but you cant ignore them. That’s certainly the case with Google and their rapidly growing emergence as a major contributor to human civilization, be it science, technology or whatever you can think of. Now, they’re offering the netizens with an opportunity to delve into History. True. The recently launched google news archive search is turning out to be a real hottie.

This search feature lets you find any news that appeared any time between 1754 to till date!!! Whoo whoo. That sounds fascinating to me. Not only that. You can actually discover the first appearance of a particular word / data by using the Advanced search option and a little tweaking. To get my hand dirty, I keyed in the word “Ramakrishna”. Guess, what I found? Hmm. An article dated 21 June, 1899 from Newark Daily Advocate newspaper.

So if you’re interested in History, make sure you are there.

Here are some interesting findings:

The word India first appeared on sep 27, 1759 in the Edinburgh Chronicle

the word Pakistan, surprisingly, appeared on 1847, much before it was created.

Windows XP was mentioned in newspapers dating back to 1985.

The word Google find its first mention in an article published on 1759. that’s really surprising!

Blogger was first used by Nevada State journal on Jan18, 1884

elearning, the term first appeared in Oakland Tribune on Nov21, 1906

the word, website first found the mention on Dec18, 1837
